Emulsion polymer technology uses water as a low viscosity medium supporting polymer spheres contained in suspension. Emulsion polymers are a unique way to exploit the desirable properties of high molecular weight polymers almost entirely in the absence of organic solvents.
Acrylic emulsion polymers usually exhibit excellent stability (minimal gelation, settling and degradation) within a defined pH range. Acrylic coatings based on emulsion polymers can be used to formulate roof coatings that can be pigmented to offer a wide range of colors, including high reflectivity colors for greater energy efficiency. Emulsion polymers can also be used in many other applicaions such as house and masonry paints, tennis court coatings, and caulking compounds.
